Warehouse Associate

Warehouse Associate Location: Newton, Iowa Company: The Vernon Company Employment Type: Full-Time (Non-Exempt) Reports to: Director - Distribution Operations The Vernon Company is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to support our distribution operations. In this role, you will help ensure products are received, stored, picked, packed, and shipped accurately while maintaining inventory integrity and following safety and quality standards. Primary Duties: Pulls items from warehouse using WMS handheld device Packs items into cartons, pallets, or other shipping containers while ensuring accuracy and product protection. Perform shipping functions- generating shipping labels using our shipping software. Put away inventory that has been delivered by the warehouse team. Cross-Functional Warehouse Support: Pallet wrapping – wrap pallets using pallet machine, hand wrapping, labeling pallets with appropriate end user information. Conduct quality checks on completed orders. Stage orders for outbound shipments. Warehousing – receive products and verify quantities using WMS equipment. Put away inventory into the correct locations in the warehouse. Fulfill requests from order fulfillment. Kitting – assist coordinator assembly kits according customer specifications. Communicate shortages, overages, quality issues, and any discrepancies. Other duties as assigned by management. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Prior warehouse experience is preferred. Experience WMS (Warehouse Management System) is a plus. Knowledge of and adherence to safety guidelines and protocols in a warehouse or manufacturing setting. Ability to work with others in a collaborative environment and communicate effectively. Forklift training or certification is preferred. Self-motivated, dependable, and team-oriented. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally Work Environment Warehouse setting with a fast-paced, hands-on atmosphere Requires working on your feet for extended periods Why Join Us?
