Shipping & Receiving Clerk / Quality Control Technician Company: PDQ Powders LLC Location: Layton, Utah Job Type: Full-Time Pay: To be determined based on experience Job Summary PDQ Powders is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Clerk / Quality Control Technician to join our growing manufacturing team. PDQ Powders specializes in powder blending, packaging, and manufacturing for the dietary supplement industry. This position combines shipping and receiving, inventory management, and quality control responsibilities to help ensure materials and finished products are accurately handled, documented, and maintained according to company quality standards. The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working with computer systems, and able to balance warehouse activities with detailed quality control documentation. Key Responsibilities Shipping & Receiving Receive incoming materials, verify quantities, inspect shipments for damage, and accurately record receipts. Prepare shipping documents, including packing slips, shipping labels, and bills of lading (BOLs). Pick, stage, and prepare finished products for shipment. Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments to meet production and customer deadlines. Maintain accurate inventory records and transactions using our ERP system. Assist with inventory cycle counts and audits. Maintain organized shipping, receiving, and warehouse areas. Quality Control Inspect and sample incoming raw materials according to established procedures. Perform physical testing of raw materials and finished products as required. Inspect production equipment and manufacturing areas to verify compliance with quality standards. Review and verify production batch records for accuracy and completeness. Conduct first article inspections to ensure packaging and labeling meet specifications. Inspect and verify labels, packaging materials, and other components. Ensure materials and equipment are properly identified and labeled according to their quality status. Assist with quality audits, inspections, and monitoring programs. Maintain accurate quality control documentation and records. Work closely with production and quality personnel to identify and resolve issues. General Responsibilities Follow company standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety policies, and quality requirements. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Communicate effectively with production, warehouse, and management personnel. Support team productivity, accuracy, and continuous improvement initiatives. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Required: High school diploma or GED. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word. Ability to read and understand shipping documents, purchase orders, and written procedures. Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team. Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate records. Preferred: Two or more years of related experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, quality control, or manufacturing. Experience with ERP or inventory management software, such as Odoo, SAP, or NetSuite. Previous experience in a manufacturing or regulated production environment. Familiarity with quality control procedures, product inspections, and documentation requirements. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and move throughout the workday. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently. Ability to perform physical warehouse and manufacturing activities, including reaching, handling materials, and inspecting products. Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with machinery noise and potential exposure to airborne powder or dust.
