Feeding the Gulf Coast Job Description Job Title: Distribution Center Warehouse Associate Department: Operations Reports To: Operations Manager in Milton FL FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Location: Milton, FL About the Organization: As a member of Feeding America, and a United Way Member Agency, Feeding the Gulf Coast works through member organizations and special programs to provide nutritious food to meet the challenge of feeding people who are hungry as a result of systemic poverty, personal crisis, or disaster. Additionally, Feeding the Gulf Coast educates the public regarding domestic hunger, proper nutrition and other related issues. Feeding the Gulf Coast serves a 24-county area spanning south Alabama, south Mississippi, and the panhandle of Florida. Summary: Receives, counts, locates and inspects food and non-food items. Responsible for general warehouse duties, such as filling orders, loading and unloading of trucks, move and locate product, assist with volunteers, maintain cleanliness of the distribution center by following company sanitation and cleanliness guidelines. Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Represents Feeding the Gulf Coast by conduct and appearance while engaging with warehouse customers and volunteers in a professional manner. Receives, offloads, and stores inbound product including the completion of reception documentation accurately and efficiently. Pulls, assembles, packages, and stages orders accurately and efficiently. Loads and secures inventory on Feeding the Gulf Coast commercial trucks and customer vehicles safely and efficiently. Operates all warehouse equipment safely. Conducts warehouse daily checks and maintenance processes as assigned. Performs facility maintenance as needed. Assists with agency product selection operations. Operates Feeding the Gulf Coast vehicles to complete assigned inventory distribution or collection safely. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Gmail. Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
