About: Heritage Interiors is a central Iowa flooring and interiors company. We sell, install and manage projects for residential and commercial customers: tile, LVP, LVT, hardwood and carpet, plus cabinets, countertops and window coverings. Our installers count on the warehouse team to get the right material to the right site, on time and undamaged.Key responsibilities Duties Warehouse: Receive inbound freight; check counts, SKUs, dye lots and damage against packing lists and POs Put away and organize inventory: flooring pallets, carpet rolls, cabinet boxes, slabs and blinds Pull and stage materials for each job by the schedule, including trim, transitions, underlayment and adhesives Cut carpet and vinyl rolls to order and label cuts with job name and lot Keep inventory records accurate in [inventory system]; help with cycle counts Process returns and remnants, and report damaged or short material the same day Keep the warehouse clean, safe and organized; operate the forklift and pallet jack Delivery Load trucks in delivery order, secured to prevent damage in transit Deliver to homes, new construction and commercial sites across the Des Moines metro Place material where the installer needs it, carrying in and up stairs when required Confirm deliveries with signatures or photos; note any damage or shortages Represent Heritage professionally with homeowners, builders and site supervisors; protect floors and walls in occupied homes Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs Pick up supplies from vendors and distributors as needed Return job leftovers and remnants to the warehouse Put away and organize inventory: flooring pallets, carpet rolls, cabinet boxes, slabs and blinds Pull and stage materials for each job by the schedule, including trim, transitions, underlayment and adhesives Cut carpet and vinyl rolls to order and label cuts with job name and lot Keep inventory records accurate in [inventory system]; help with cycle counts Process returns and remnants, and report damaged or short material the same day Keep the warehouse clean, safe and organized; operate the forklift and pallet jack Required Valid driver's license, and a driving record that meets our insurance carrier's standards Preferred 1+ year of warehouse, delivery or building-materials experience Forklift certification or experience (we'll train) Experience driving a box truck or pulling a trailer Familiarity with flooring, cabinets or construction materials Knowledge of the Des Moines metro roads and job-site areas Bilingual English/Spanish Physical requirements and work environment Regularly lift and carry 50 lb and up to 75 lb alone. Team-lift heavier items such as carpet rolls, cabinets and countertops. Stand, walk, bend, kneel and climb stairs for most of the shift Work in an unheated or uncooled warehouse, and outdoors at job sites in Iowa heat, cold, rain and snow Work around forklifts, saws and moving vehicles; wear required PPE (steel-toe boots, gloves, safety glasses) Spend part of the day driving a company van or box truck in city and highway traffic We provide reasonable accommodation for qualified individuals with disabilities.
