Warehouse Assistant Manager

Responsibilities Supervise daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory management, and order fulfillment. Lead and motivate warehouse staff through effective team management, ensuring high performance and safety compliance. Oversee inventory control procedures utilizing warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners to maintain accurate stock levels. Coordinate logistics activities to optimize distribution center workflows and improve process efficiency using lean management principles. Operate or supervise the operation of material handling equipment such as forklifts and heavy lifting machinery following OSHA safety standards. Implement process improvements to streamline warehouse operations, reduce waste, and enhance overall productivity. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including OSHA standards, through regular training and safety audits. Collaborate with shipping & receiving teams to ensure timely dispatch and receipt of goods while maintaining accurate records. Utilize Microsoft Office tools for reporting, documentation, and communication within the team. Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, provide feedback, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Qualifications Proven experience in warehouse operations or distribution center management with a strong understanding of logistics processes. Demonstrated leadership skills with previous warehouse supervisor or managerial experience leading teams in fast-paced environments. Proficiency in inventory management systems (IMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and RF scanner technology. Ability to operate or oversee the operation of material handling equipment such as forklifts safely and efficiently. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations related to warehouse safety and materials handling procedures. Excellent communication skills for managerial communication, team leadership, and coordination across departments. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual material handling tasks regularly. Familiarity with lean management techniques aimed at process improvement within warehousing or distribution settings.
