Job Title: Warehouse Assistant Job Type: Full-Time Location: Tyler, TX We are seeking a proactive, highly motivated, and detail-oriented Warehouse Assistant to join our team. In this fast-paced and dynamic role, you will be responsible for maintaining efficient daily warehouse operations, fulfilling customer orders, managing inventory via our ERP system, and delivering products safely to customer locations. Because this position involves the handling, receiving, and delivery of hazardous materials (including explosives), strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance is required. Key Responsibilities Order Fulfillment & Processing: Read customer, work, and shipping orders to determine items to be gathered. Assemble customer orders from stock, place them on pallets or shelves, and convey them to the packing/shipping area. Inventory Management: Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences (size, type, style, color, or product code). Mark materials with identifying information and accurately record the number of items received or distributed. System Operations: Utilize the company ERP system to enter sales orders and look up inventory items. Understand and communicate item descriptions by part number. Material Handling & Delivery: Move and transport items from receiving to storage, and from storage to the shipping area. Safely operate industrial trucks and deliver products directly to customer businesses or work locations. Assembly & Maintenance: Perform disassembly, assembly, maintenance, and cleaning of tools and parts in accordance with company standards. Ensure all warehouse surfaces are kept clean and free from debris. Scheduling & Travel: Participate in an on-call schedule (to be determined), which includes occasional short-notice "hotshot" delivery runs. Required Qualifications & Skills Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 1 to 3 months of related warehouse experience and/or training (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). Knowledge of shipping and receiving is a strong plus. Technical & Mathematical Skills: Basic computer skills and familiarity with standard warehouse operations. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure (using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals), as well as compute rates, ratios, and percentages. Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, as well as write routine reports. Work Style: High initiative, self-motivated, customer-service oriented, and a strong team player. Exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to quickly adjust priorities in a dynamic environment. Must be able to identify and provide process improvements as needed. Physical Demands & Work Environment Must be able to safely transport, lift, or reposition heavy freight and equipment weighing at least 75 pounds on an occasional basis. Requires on-site presence and acceptable attendance to perform essential duties. Licenses, Certifications & Security Requirements Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years old. Driving Record: Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record that conforms to the company’s insurance policies. Regulatory Clearance: Must meet all ATF, State, and other applicable regulatory and security requirements for handling, receiving, storing, and delivering hazardous materials and explosives. Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
