Warehouse Assistant

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Warehouse Assistant to join our dynamic logistics team. Duties Operate various warehouse equipment including forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, cranes, pallet jacks, and order pickers to load, unload, and move materials safely and efficiently. Assist with inventory control by conducting regular stock counts, updating inventory management software, and ensuring accurate record-keeping through warehouse management systems like PLY. Support shipping and receiving processes by preparing shipments, packaging products securely, and verifying order accuracy for timely dispatch. Handle materials manually and with heavy equipment while adhering to all safety regulations and OSHA standards to prevent accidents or injuries. Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment by stocking shelves, organizing materials, and ensuring proper storage practices in compliance with safety protocols. Follow all safety procedures including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), manual handling techniques, and safety protocol adherence during all warehouse activities. Collaborate with team members to fulfill orders efficiently through order picking, loading, unloading, and inventory replenishment tasks. Skills Proven experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts (including reach trucks), cherry pickers, pallet jacks, cranes, and order pickers. Strong understanding of warehouse distribution processes including shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, stock management, and logistics. Familiarity with inventory management software and warehouse management systems like PLY or equivalent platforms. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following manual handling procedures. Basic math skills for counting stock accurately and managing inventory records. Knowledge of safety regulations including OSHA standards and proper PPE use to ensure a safe working environment. Previous experience in warehouse supervision or logistics roles is preferred but not required; a proactive attitude towards learning is essential.
