OverviewWarehouse Assistant (3-Month Term) Amherst Food Assistance Network Association (AFANA) - Amherst Food Bank The Amherst Food Bank is hiring a dependable Warehouse Worker for a three-month term to assist with warehouse operations and food distribution. Position Details Term: 3 months Hours: 18 hours per week Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday Wage: $17.00 per hour Start Date: November 9, 2026 Key Responsibilities Unload food deliveries, including Feed Nova Scotia shipments Portion and package food products as required Sort, organize, and stock warehouse shelves Assist with maintaining an organized and efficient warehouse environment Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications The ideal candidate will: Be reliable, punctual, and a strong team player Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and time management skills Be able to repeatedly and safely lift up to 50 pounds Be self-directed, adaptable, and flexible Respect privacy and confidentiality requirements and be willing to sign a confidentiality agreement Successfully complete a criminal record check Assets Food Handler Certification (preferred but not required) Previous warehouse, retail, or food service experience How to Apply Please submit: A cover letter introducing yourself and explaining how you meet the requirements of the position.
