Warehouse and Store Service Driver, Weekends Required

Job Purpose

Duties and Responsibilities

Cultural and Ministerial Responsibilities

• Uphold and promote YUGM’s Christian beliefs and behaviors, core values, policies, and procedures with a high-level of integrity.
• Develop professional, caring, strengths-based relationships built on truth, respect, encouragement, and trust.
• Provide ministry and show kindness and grace to staff, volunteers, clients, donors, and the community.

• Engage in opportunities to pray for individuals, departments, strategic plans and other YUGM needs.

Functional Responsibilities

• Instructing, training, and coaching each person you work with is an instrumental part of the role.
• Able to communicate well with others including guests, donors, staff, and volunteers
• Work well in a collaborative, team environment, and with volunteers.
• Work closely with the YUGM Thrift Stores, coordinating servicing, and picking up items that are needed for the Programs Distribution and for Recycling.
• Coordinate daily runs to service the stores, picking up their items that come back for recycling.
• Load and unload gaylords, apple bins, rolling totes, and boxes and bags using an electric pallet jack, manual pallet jack, forklifts, and by hand.
• Drive YUGM cars, vans, pick-up trucks, and box trucks as needed.
• Preparing truck before runs and unloading truck after pick-ups
• Lift, move, load and unload necessary items repeatedly throughout the workday.

Additional Responsibilities

• Attend, as requested or required, all YUGM trainings and meetings scheduled by the management team to keep current on any policy changes, new procedures, and other information essential to performing the job.
• Other duties as assigned in support of YUGM’s mission and values.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma/GED, Washington State Driver’s License (current) and 2 plus years or related experience.
• Must have fundamental computer and computer software skills to input job details, search online for materials and supplies and research appropriate task guidelines.

Proficiencies:

• Functional organizational, customer service, and interpersonal skills, high level of professionalism and the ability to maintain confidentiality required.
• Ability to work independently under the pressure of deadlines, interruptions and changing priorities while maintaining a strong attention to detail. Reliable, resourceful, and flexible.

• Ability to work alongside and/or supervise volunteers, programmers, and clients representing a variety of backgrounds – cultural, economic, and those in addiction recovery.

Working Conditions:

The primary duties of this position are around distribution warehouses and driving. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate but can get noisy. Truck driving (non-CDL) and forklift operation are required but done as needed. Will also be required to be outdoors in inclement weather and occasionally work irregular hours.

Physical Requirements:

• Visual and auditory abilities to effectively perform job tasks.
• Clear and fluent communication in English.
• Capable of walking, climbing stairs, balancing, bending, reaching, and using hands for tasks. 
• Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
