About the Role Foundation Repair of California is seeking a dependable and mechanically skilled Warehouse and Fleet Mechanic to support the maintenance, repair, and organization of company equipment, tools, vehicles, and warehouse assets. This position is primarily responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining small engines, motors, hydraulic equipment, and construction tools used by our field crews. The role will also support basic company vehicle maintenance, fleet records, DMV renewals, tire maintenance, and general warehouse operations. The ideal candidate is hands-on, mechanically inclined, organized, and capable of identifying equipment issues and completing repairs efficiently to help minimize downtime for field operations. Key Responsibilities 1. Small-Engine & Equipment Repair · Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain small engines and motors. · Perform routine engine repairs and preventive maintenance. · Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic equipment and components. · Maintain and repair construction tools and equipment used by field crews. · Perform oil changes, filter replacements, spark plug replacements, fluid checks, and other routine maintenance. · Identify worn, damaged, or unsafe equipment and complete necessary repairs. · Test repaired equipment to ensure proper and safe operation before returning it to service. · Determine when equipment requires outside professional repair and coordinate service when necessary. · Maintain accurate records of equipment repairs and preventive maintenance. 2. Vehicle & Fleet Support · Perform basic maintenance and inspections on company vehicles. · Coordinate and/or perform tire rotations and tire replacements. · Monitor vehicle maintenance needs, including oil changes, tires, batteries, fluids, and routine service. · Coordinate outside vehicle repairs and maintenance with approved vendors. · Track scheduled maintenance and help ensure company vehicles remain safe and operational. · Maintain basic fleet maintenance and repair records. · Assist with DMV registration renewals and required vehicle documentation. · Monitor registration expiration dates and communicate upcoming renewal requirements. · Maintain records of vehicle assignments, maintenance history, mileage, and repair status. 3. Warehouse Responsibilities · Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse and mechanic work area. · Inspect tools and equipment returning from jobsites for damage or required maintenance. · Prepare tools and equipment for deployment to field crews. · Maintain inventory of commonly used repair parts, filters, fluids, hardware, and maintenance supplies. · Identify parts and supplies that need to be reordered. · Assist with receiving, organizing, storing, and distributing tools, equipment, and materials. · Help maintain an accurate inventory of company tools and equipment. · Ensure damaged or unsafe equipment is removed from service until repairs are completed. · Follow company safety procedures when operating or repairing equipment.
