Job Summary The Warehouse Agent will be responsible for managing and handling cargo within the warehouse, with a focus on perishable and temperature-controlled goods. This role requires precise handling, documentation, and compliance with regulatory requirements, as well as effective communication with Shipping and Receiving. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, reliable, and capable of performing physically demanding tasks and operating industry equipment. This position also requires flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays. Key Responsibilities: Work safely in varying environmental conditions, including refrigerated areas, loading docks, and non-climate-controlled warehouse spaces. Exposure to varying temperatures, noise, moving machinery, forklifts, and related cargo. Receive, inspect, and record incoming cargo, ensuring accuracy and completeness of shipments. Identify and report any issues with the received cargo, including damage or shortages, to the appropriate department. Handle cargo according to established procedures, including pre-cooling, proper storage, and order preparation. Monitor, document, and maintain temperature-controlled storage conditions in accordance with customer requirements, company procedures, and cold-chain standards. Prepare cargo for dispatch, verifying documentation and loading items securely to prevent damage during transit. Coordinate with trucking and driver teams, ensuring the correct temperature is applied to perishable shipments during transportation. Conduct cargo screening and security procedures in accordance with TSA regulations. Verify and process documentation related to cargo handling, transportation, and compliance. Monitor and enforce proper loading techniques to safeguard cargo integrity. Collaborate with the Warehouse Operations Manager and follow instructions to ensure smooth and efficient workflow. Communicate promptly with team members and supervisors to address any issues or delays. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the warehouse, adhering to safety standards and company policies. Assist with inventory management and maintain accurate records of cargo movement. High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in warehouse operations or logistics, preferably with perishable or temperature-controlled cargo. Flexibility to work on varying shifts, weekends, and holidays. Flexibility to work overtime based on operational need. Must be able to successfully complete company-required forklift training, certification and maintain an active license through recurrent training (Certification Preferred). Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking) (Spanish is a plus). Knowledge of temperature control practices and warehouse safety procedures. Employment is contingent upon successfully completing applicable pre-employment screening processes, including background verification and drug testing were permitted by law. Strong teamwork skills and a proactive attitude. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is: Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, push, pull and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
