Advance Auto PartsJob Description The VP of Supply Chain Strategy and Inventory Optimization will build and execute an integrated global or multi-site supply chain vision. This leader owns demand planning, inventory replenishment rules, SKU rationalization, and Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP/SIOP). Partnering with Finance, Procurement, and Operations, you will maximize fill rates while reducing excess and obsolete (E&O) inventory. The position will also oversee supply chain strategy, solutions, analytics, and provide PMO support to the supply chain team. The key focus will be on redesigning the supply chain network and drive down inventory investment in the organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilitie s Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the end-to-end supply chain strategy, including planning, sourcing, logistics, and inventory optimization, in alignment with corporate and business unit goals Develop and manage a sustainable S&OP process. Develops the integrated supply chain strategy improving organizational effectiveness Inventory Optimization: Oversee inventory policies, forecasting, and control systems to improve service levels, reduce carrying costs, and enhance cash flow Implement improved processes and management methods to generate higher ROI and workflow optimization. Demand & Supply Planning: Lead demand forecasting, supply planning, and capacity strategies to ensure availability and efficiency. Manage overall inventory investment for the organization and develop strategies and policies improve gross margin return on investment (GMROI) and inventory turns to turn inventory into cash above the cost of the inventory. Exercises strong analytical problem solving in order to understand operational inefficiencies and separate/resolve legitimate supplier performance issues. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with FP&A, operations, sales, manufacturing, and distribution teams to align supply chain activities with business objectives Form and manage a Supply Chain Analytics team to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness by enabling data-driven decisions regarding overall supply chain network design at strategic, operational and tactical levels. Develops and grows strategic partnerships, working closely with partner supplier representatives. Reporting & Analysis: Provide performance metrics, variance analysis, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership. Develop and create strategies and policies in supply chain, inventory and distribution management, streamlining, cost-reduction, client interaction, production and materials planning, process improvement, team building and supervision, and process optimization aligned with organizational goals. Defines, measures, and monitors metrics to drive supply chain performance to elevate business performance. Analyzes current systems, procedures, and practices, and captures opportunities for improvements. Interprets economic, geopolitical, and market conditions and advises management of potential impacts on the cost and availability of goods and services being procured Planning & S&OP: Lead demand and supply forecasting disciplines, driving cross-functional alignment between commercial goals and operational capacity. Ensures compliance with all regulations, departmental policies, procedures, work instructions, budgets, and controls; prepares and supports audits of systems and processes from internal and external sources Maintains a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety objectives and policies Perform other duties as required Minimum Requirements : A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a similar field is required; an MBA or other advanced degree is preferred A minimum of 15 years of experience overseeing global supply chain operations in a government contract environment Must be intelligent, responsive, and able to build relationships and consensus Must possess experience conducting high-level needs assessmen…
