Summary:
The position of Vice President and Manager, Loan Operations, is responsible for performing routine, intermediate, and high-level duties related to retail, commercial, and real estate applications and loans. The VP and Manager will manage, supervise and direct loan operations department activities and staff, including loan documentation origination, loan setup, exception review/reporting, tracking of loan documents, filing of security documents, loan maintenance, loan accounting and servicing, safekeeping and payoff functions. Ensure effective and accurate servicing of all loans across all business lines including servicing of retained mortgages and monitoring and servicing of escrow accounts. Develop and maintain loan servicing procedures and policies. Promote business for the bank by maintaining good customer relations and referring customers to appropriate staff for new services. The position of Vice President and Manager ensures schedules and deadlines are met, coordinating with other departments as needed, and also is required to be fully knowledgeable and skilled in all areas of loan documentation and servicing, provide leadership, training, and support to less experienced loan operations specialists and other staff members. Assures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

Essential Functions:
• Manage and supervise loan operations department activities and staff, ensuring compliance with pertinent regulatory requirements and company policies. Loan Operations functions include, but are not limited to, loan documentation origination, loan setup, exception review/reporting, safekeeping, tracking of loan documents, loan maintenance, loan accounting and servicing, filing and releasing security documents, payoff functions, appraisal ordering and reviewing appraisals.
• Ensure the effective and accurate accounting and servicing of all loans across all business lines including servicing of retained mortgages. Maintain loan servicing policy consistent with regulatory requirements and organizational strategy. Respond to all quality control and compliance findings.
• Prepare and maintain a Loan Operations Service Level Agreement which would identify timeframes and performance expectations for the principal services provided by Loan Operations. Communicate such information to loan officers and obtain concurrence.
• Provide guidance and feedback to staff including performance evaluations.
• Recommend hire, separation and/or disciplinary actions. Develop performance plans for assigned staff and assess performance against approved performance goals.
• Identify training and development needs of loan operations staff, support and/or participate in the development of training materials and information to include current regulatory guidance and bank processes and procedures.
• Develop and maintain loan servicing policies and procedures. Ensure all loans are serviced in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and in accordance with loan documents.
• Provide regular reports to management to effectively monitor loan operations, collections and past dues and to support recommendations for decisions on strategy.
• Respond to internal and external customers who have escalated problems or concerns relating to loan operations/servicing and related policy or procedures. Respond to all quality control and compliance findings. Keep management apprised of issues, recommend resolutions, and actions taken.
• Participate in the development of departmental budget recommendations, monitor and control operations within approved budget.
• Communicate company policies and managerial decisions with a positive attitude and commitment to the strategic objectives.

Position Requirements:
• Develop and maintain a working knowledge of bank policies, procedures, products, documentation and compliance requirements, and systems.
