WHO is Sound Generations?

We are a comprehensive non-profit organization that serves older adults and people with disabilities in King County. Our mission is to partner with older adults to provide accessible and inclusive services so they can age their way.

We are currently seeking a Volunteer and Operations Coordinator to join our Meals on Wheels team in Seattle, Washington.

What will YOU do?

The Volunteer and Operations Coordinator supports the recruiting, on boarding, training and management of over 300 program volunteers at 20 sites across King County. Acts as a liaison between volunteers, staff, and community partners. Provides extensive operational program support including but not limited to logistical coordination, invoicing, and filling in as Site Coordinator when needed. 

Pay Rate: $31.17 per hour.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week (8am-4:30pm).

Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, on-board, and train program volunteers. Conduct and screen volunteer background checks.
  • Direct the work of others and/or coordinate services of volunteers. Lead volunteer orientation and training.
  • Provide information and technical assistance to volunteers, staff, and program participants regarding program content, policies, and activities.
  • Regularly conduct site visits and build relationships with leaders of partner sites throughout King County.
  • Provide extensive operational program support including logistical coordination, invoicing and filling in as Site Coordinator when needed.
  • Maintain volunteer database and records. Track volunteer hours and impact.
  • Research and analyze data to identify program needs and volunteer eligibility for continued program participation.
  • Attend meetings and/or events as program representative.
  • Troubleshoot complex problems and emergent situations. Address volunteer concerns.
  • Plan and execute volunteer appreciation events and/or initiatives.
  • Gather, collate and organize program data; prepare reports. Review and code invoices.
  • Perform the work of lower classified positions.

     Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's Degree OR Equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience working or volunteering in social and human services or related field.
