Video Game Inventory Specialist

The Inventory Specialist works independently and as part of the store team to ensure J2Games.com inventory is accurately received, identified, graded, entered into company systems, and prepared for sale. The Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining a high level of accuracy and consistency throughout the inventory process while helping ensure products are made available for guests in a timely and organized manner. This position requires strong attention to detail, organization, product knowledge, and the ability to consistently apply J2Games.com inventory and grading standards. The Inventory Specialist handles a variety of products, including video games, consoles, accessories, DVD and Blu-Ray movies, collectibles, and other merchandise, and supports the overall operational effectiveness of the store through accurate inventory management. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Inventory Accuracy: Receive, identify, sort, and organize incoming inventory according to J2Games.com procedures and standards. Accurately enter products, quantities, condition information, and other required inventory data into company systems. Verify product information and inventory records for accuracy and correct discrepancies when identified. Maintain accurate inventory counts and assist with cycle counts, physical inventories, audits, and inventory reconciliation as required. Identify inventory discrepancies, missing products, incorrect product information, and other inventory concerns and promptly communicate issues to management. Protect company assets through effective inventory control, proper product handling, and adherence to loss prevention procedures. Product Grading and Quality: Inspect merchandise and accurately determine product condition using established J2Games.com grading standards. Consistently apply grading standards to video games, consoles, accessories, collectibles, DVDs and Blu-Ray movies, and other products handled by the store. Identify products requiring additional cleaning, testing, research, or management review before being made available for sale. Maintain consistency and accuracy when evaluating product condition to ensure inventory records accurately represent the merchandise being offered to guests. Handle merchandise carefully throughout the inventory process to prevent damage and preserve product condition. Product Preparation: Prepare inventory for sale by completing required cleaning, labeling, packaging, pricing, sorting, and organization processes. Ensure products are properly identified and prepared before being placed on the sales floor, stored as inventory, or made available through J2Games.com or its related resellers. Organize completed inventory so products can be located and fulfilled efficiently. Maintain clean, neat, and organized inventory processing, storage, and work areas. Process inventory efficiently while maintaining J2Games.com standards for accuracy and product quality. Operational Agility: Respond rapidly, accurately, and consistently to operational requirements related to receiving, processing, grading, and maintaining inventory. Prioritize inventory tasks appropriately to ensure incoming merchandise moves efficiently through the inventory process and becomes available for sale. Follow established company procedures while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment with multiple overlapping priorities. Communicate clearly and regularly with Store Leaders and other associates regarding inventory issues, discrepancies, processing needs, and product concerns. Assist with merchandising, stocking, inventory organization, and other store operational responsibilities as needed.
