Vice President of Operations

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Vice President of Operations to lead our organization’s operational functions with energy and precision. In this pivotal role, you will drive operational excellence initiatives, oversee large-scale organizational change management, and shape the strategic direction of business operations. Your leadership will ensure seamless process improvements, strong business development, and financial stewardship across all departments. As a key member of the executive team, you will foster a culture of continuous improvement, data-driven decision-making, and high-impact leadership to propel the organization toward its ambitious goals. Duties Fleet Management: Oversee vehicle utilization, routing efficiency, and maintenance operations to ensure high on-time delivery rates. Regulatory Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) rules, safety protocols, hours-of-service rules, and driver qualifications. Budget & Financial Control: Manage operating budgets, control cost-per-mile metrics, negotiate fuel and vendor contracts, and drive division-wide profitability. Team Leadership: Direct managers, dispatchers, and safety personnel, while building a strong safety culture and driver retention strategy. Qualifications Education : A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business administration. Experience : 3+ years of progressive leadership experience in trucking, freight transportation, or 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) operations, with direct oversight of large fleets. Technical Skills: Deep familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), electronic logging devices (ELD), and data-driven route optimization. Exceptional verbal communication skills suited for engaging with executives and stakeholders at all levels. Proficiency in project management tools and techniques to oversee complex programs effectively. Supervising experience with a track record of developing high-performing teams within fast-paced environments. Ability to leverage data-driven decision-making for strategic growth and operational optimization.
