Vice President of Operations

Vice President, Operations Reports To: President FLSA Status: Exempt Summary: The is responsible for leading warehouse operations in a multi-site distribution environment. The VP will lead all aspects of the distribution including personnel management, inventory management, quality and shipping/receiving. The VP is responsible for ensuring a safe and efficient operation. Job Role/Responsibilities : · Lead warehouse operation activities in a multi-state distribution environment. · Establish, implement and communicate the strategic direction for the operation. · Promotes and ensures that safety is the priority. · Collaborate with the Operation Managers to align employees with the company’s mission and values. · Lead, guide and direct multi-site Operation Managers and their respective team members. · Responsible for forecast, budgets, and meeting production, shipping, and safety goals. · Establishes, communicates, and implements operations-related policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure efficient and consistent execution. · Develops, manages and tracks operational metrics for the facilities. · Recruit, hire, manage, & develop personnel. · Acts as a change agent, installing a culture of continuous improvement. · Identifies, recommends and implements new processes, technologies and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources. · Lead and direct the inventory management team to ensure appropriate inventory levels. · Ensures new product introductions are supported and executed to the established project plans. · Responsible for costs, and cost reduction initiatives & methods, and on-time Customer shipments. · Provides short and long-term objectives for the operations team and executes to those objectives. · Provide constant and effective communication at all levels to ensure a productive work environment. · Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in operations management. · Identifies training needs and ensures proper training is developed and provided. · Other duties as assigned. Qualifications : · Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Logistics or other industry-related field. · At least 10 years of warehouse management experience. · 5-10 years of multi-site facilities management experience in a distribution environment. · Must have proven success in building rapport and trust with the warehouse team members. · Proven experience of developing a team. · Ability to create and thrive in a fast paced, changing environment. · Effective written and verbal communication skills. · Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. · Proven experience of leading by example. · Experience working with a warehouse management system, preferably Microsoft Dynamics (D365). · Must be efficient working with the Microsoft Office suite. · Must be able to travel, as needed, to other Gardner facilities.
