Activ8 Recruitment & SolutionsA Logistics company is seeking a Vice President of Licensed Customs Broker and Customs Compliance to join their team in Carson, CA . This position is responsible for overseeing customs clearance, regulatory compliance, internal customs controls, and the company’s CTPAT program. Must have a valid U.S Customs Broker License. An associate’s degree, at least 3 years of experience with a U.S. customs brokerage firm, strong knowledge of HTS, 19 CFR and CBP procedures and experience using ABI software is required. Ability to speak Japanese is a plus but not required. This is a full-time in person, exempt position with bonus and excellent benefits, including 401k. Work Schedule : M-F, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Occasional weekend work may be required. Vice President/Licensed Customs Broker of Customs Compliance Duties: -Oversee U.S. import customs clearance in compliance with CBP regulations including 19 CFR -Revise and submit customs entry filings and Importer Security Filing (ISF) documents -Establish and maintain internal customs control procedures and provide training -Serve as the company’s licensed customs broker officer of record with CBP -Liaise with CBP, FDA, USDA and other relevant government authorities -Advise on HTS classification, customs valuation, country of origin and duty minimization strategies -Interpret and implement applicable U.S. executive orders and customs directives affecting customs clearance -Manage the company CTPAT program -Coordinate with internal departments, including forwarding and operations Vice President/ Licensed Customs Broker of Customs Compliance Skills: -Valid U.S. Customs Broker License is required -At least 3 years of experience with a US customs brokerage firm -Strong knowledge of HTS, 19 CFR and CBP procedures -ABI Software experience (Wise Tech, Descartes) -Able to interpret and implement U.S. executive orders and customs directives relating to customs clearance -Experience managing CTPAT programs preferred -Ability to speak Japanese is a plus, but not required ****If interested, please apply with your most updated resume including your minimum salary requirement and why you left/or are looking to leave your current company. **** ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Activ8 West- Los Angeles (Japanese Recruiting Company) Recruitment & Solutions / Renaissance Resources Inc., has been a trusted leader in North American recruiting for Japanese businesses for over 25 years.
