Veterinary Inventory Manager

West Delray Veterinary (WDV) is seeking 1 full-time experienced Inventory Manager to join our busy, growing practice. This position will work at both of our locations: Mindful Veterinary Care (MVC) - 8724 Lake Worth Rd Ste 500, Wellington, FL 33467 West Delray Veterinary (WDV) - 15065 FL-7, Suite 750, Delray Beach, FL 33446 Candidates must be comfortable working between both locations based on scheduling and practice needs. We are looking for someone who is: Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Comfortable managing multiple priorities across two locations Reliable and able to work independently while remaining highly collaborative Confident communicating with doctors, team members, vendors, pharmacies, and clients Skilled at maintaining accurate records and identifying discrepancies Financially mindful and able to balance cost control with the needs of patient care A systematic problem-solver who anticipates needs before they become problems Interested in contributing ideas and improving systems and processes Veterinary Inventory Manager Responsibilities (include but are not limited to) Oversee inventory of pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, hospital materials, and office supplies across both locations Establish and maintain appropriate stock levels and reorder points Place and track orders to prevent shortages and disruptions to patient care Maintain organized inventory rotation and monitor expiration dates Coordinate returns of expired, damaged, or unused products Maintain accurate inventory records within practice management software Investigate inventory discrepancies, shortages, and irregularities Monitor product usage, inventory trends, and costs Communicate back-orders, product changes, and supply updates to the appropriate team members Serve as the primary liaison for vendors and supplier representatives Review product options, pricing, alternatives, and cost-saving opportunities Coordinate custom orders requested by doctors, team members, or clients Collaborate with Medical Directors regarding new products and equipment Assist with external pharmacy requests and prescription-related communications Process and coordinate medication refill requests accurately and efficiently Maintain accurate prescription and controlled substance records Ensure compliance with hospital policies and applicable pharmacy, OSHA, and regulatory requirements Maintain DEA-compliant controlled substance logs, storage, and recordkeeping Assist with controlled substance audits and promptly report discrepancies or irregularities Work with the Practice Manager to maintain an organized inventory budget and minimize unnecessary waste Train and support team members in the proper use of inventory systems and procedures Travel between West Delray Veterinary and Mindful Veterinary Care according to the established schedule Qualifications Experience in inventory management, purchasing, supply coordination, or a related role preferred Veterinary, medical, pharmacy, or healthcare inventory experience strongly preferred Bachelor's degree in Business, …
