Vendor Specialist

ST Solutions has an immediate opening for a Vendor Specialist at our corporate office in Salem, VA. This position is responsible for the company’s procurement processes in order to maintain appropriate inventory levels, aligned with the Company’s policies, procedures, and objectives to service and fulfill customer requirements. Responsibilities of this position include inventory management, item maintenance, maintaining correct item pricing. Primary Responsibilities: Support in managing procurement processes. Work with internal departments to understand purchasing needs and translate that to suppliers through clear written and verbal communication. Develop relationships and understanding of assigned suppliers product lines and business practices. Monitor purchasing thresholds to ensure understanding of inventory needs as well as lead times to support company requirements and internal off site management teams with procurement requirements. Support in maintenance of current pricing for suppliers, update internal systems accordingly and communicate change to appropriate company personnel. Monitor and evaluate supplier performance to communicate any suppliers who may need additional attention. Clearly relay this information for internal reviews of supplier performance audits. Intake end user and sales team concerns, utilizing problem solving and implementation of corrective action where appropriate. Position Requirements: Must have high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience in purchasing or a related field Must possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to be able to communicate effectively with suppliers, customers, business associates, and Company personnel Must be team oriented, with the desire to collaborate with other team members to achieve procurement goals for the company Must be able to work independently Must have excellent problem-solving capabilities Must have ability to multitask Must have high level of organizational skills with attention to details Must have good overall computer proficiency and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Must demonstrate a professional demeanor at all times, while working with suppliers, customers and business associates **Pay range is based on qualifications and experience.
