We are currently seeking and have an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) Specialist based out of our Sudbury, Ontario location, 1300 Lorne Street, Sudbury, ON.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide prompt, professional customer service and respond to product and inventory inquiries in person on customer’s sites, by phone, and by email.
- Travel to customers’ sites and monitor inventory usage and replenish stock based on min/max levels, consumption trends, and customer demand.
- Perform inventory audits, counts, and reconciliations to maintain inventory accuracy and product availability.
- Coordinate replenishment orders and inventory activities with purchasing, warehouse, logistics, and customer personnel.
- Organize, stock, label, and maintain customer inventory areas, bins, vending machines, and crib locations.
- Identify slow-moving, obsolete, or excess inventory and recommend inventory adjustments or process improvements.
- Analyze inventory trends and prepare reports related to inventory accuracy, fill rates, stockouts, and inventory turns.
- Support onboarding of new customer locations and continuous improvement initiatives while working independently across multiple sites.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of experience in Industrial distribution or related environment is required
- Valid & in good standing license is required
- Strong customer service skills with a professional, positive attitude
- Clear and effective communication skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Solid problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong time management skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Honest, dependable, and punctual with a proactive work ethic
- Capable of following written instructions, safety procedures, and documented processes
- Comfortable using computers, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel), and ERP/order entry systems
In accordance with the provincial wage transparency requirements, the expected base compensation for this position is $36,000-$45,000 (or more) depending on relevant experience, technical competencies, certifications, etc.
