Vendor Managed Inventory Coordinator

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) Coordinator to join our supply chain team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the management of inventory levels at customer locations, ensuring optimal stock availability while minimizing excess. Your expertise will drive process improvements, foster strong supplier relationships, and leverage data analytics to optimize inventory control and logistics operations. Responsibilities Collaborate with internal team members to develop and execute vendor managed inventory strategies that align with company goals. Monitor warehouse distribution and logistics inventory management to maintain accurate stock levels and reduce stockouts or overstock situations. Utilize advanced data mining, analytics, and tools such as Power BI, and Excel data analysis to identify trends, forecast demand, and support demand planning initiatives. Help initiate root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies or supply chain disruptions, implementing process improvements for continuous efficiency gains. Manage warehouse operations related to materials handling, shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, and 3PL (third-party logistics) coordination. Use warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms (SAP) and inventory management software to track stock movements and ensure accurate data collection. Support production planning by analyzing MRP (Material Requirements Planning) outputs and coordinating with cross-functional teams for timely replenishments. Facilitate effective communication across procurement, logistics, warehousing, and supplier teams to ensure alignment on inventory goals and operational priorities. Experience Proven experience in warehouse distribution, inventory control, or supply chain management within a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms (such as SAP), Power BI or similar data visualization tools. Expertise in data analytics including Excel data analysis, spreadsheets management, data mining, root cause analysis. Familiarity with logistics operations such as shipping & receiving, materials handling including forklift operation certification is preferred. Knowledge of demand planning techniques using tools like MRPs or supply chain analytics software. Ability to analyze large datasets for insights into inventory trends using SQL or other database query languages. Strong cross-functional communication skills coupled with analytical thinking skills to support continuous process improvement initiatives in a retail or e-commerce setting.
