Utility / Material Handler
Kore Mart, Ltd.1st Shift; 6am to 4pm Summary The Utility / Material Handler is responsible for supporting machine operators by ensuring they have a continuous supply of raw materials, components, and packaging supplies needed to maintain efficient production. This position helps keep production lines running smoothly by delivering materials, removing finished goods and waste, maintaining an organized work area, and assisting with general production needs. Essential Functions Employees must be able to perform the following: Supply machine operators with raw materials, components, labels, cartons, packaging materials, and other production supplies as needed. Monitor material levels at production machines and replenish supplies before they run out. Transport raw materials and packaging materials from designated storage areas to production lines using carts, pallet jacks, or other approved equipment. Remove finished products, scrap, empty containers, and waste materials from production areas. Ensure finished goods and materials are properly identified, organized, and moved to designated locations. Assist machine operators with changeovers by staging the required materials and packaging. Maintain clean, safe, and organized production and material storage areas. Follow established procedures for material handling, product identification, and inventory control. Inspect materials and packaging for damage or discrepancies and report issues to the appropriate supervisor. Assist with inventory counts and communicate material shortages or discrepancies promptly. Support production employees with other general utility tasks as assigned. On occasion, deliver products or pickup materials from local customers. Fill in as a machine operator as needed. Follow all company safety, quality, sanitation, and housekeeping requirements. Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all applicable workplace safety procedures. Qualifications Previous manufacturing, warehouse, production, or material-handling experience preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment. Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull materials and supplies. Good attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively with machine operators, leads, and supervisors. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic. Forklift or powered industrial truck experience/certification preferred, if applicable. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at the work site including heat and cold exposure. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. With the exceptions of breaktime, this position requires being on your feet for the entire shift. You must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., 40 hours per week. Overtime is occasionally required on Fridays.
