Responsibilities Safely operate a 26-foot straight truck, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and traffic laws. Load and unload packages using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment. Manage delivery routes efficiently, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs while maintaining accurate delivery logs on mobile devices. Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients during deliveries, addressing questions or concerns courteously. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are met; report any maintenance issues promptly. Follow safe lifting practices when handling heavy or bulky items, minimizing injury risk during manual handling tasks. Maintain warehouse operations knowledge for proper loading procedures and material handling equipment operation when required. Skills Proven experience in delivery driving, courier services, or commercial truck driving with a focus on route driving. Strong warehouse experience including material handling, moving heavy loads, and operating equipment like pallet jacks. Knowledge of DOT regulations related to weight handling, hours of service, and safety compliance. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally. Ability to lift heavy items safely while following manual handling protocols; physically capable of heavy lifting as needed.
