Used Car Buyer

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Used Car Buyer to join our automotive procurement team. In this vital role, you will drive the acquisition of high-quality used vehicles by leveraging your expertise in sourcing, negotiation, and inventory management. Your proactive approach will ensure that our dealership maintains a diverse and appealing selection of pre-owned cars, meeting customer demands while optimizing procurement processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence our inventory strategy and build strong vendor relationships, all while working in a fast-paced, energetic environment committed to excellence. Duties Source and evaluate used vehicles from various channels including auctions, private sellers, and trade-ins to ensure quality and market competitiveness Negotiate purchase prices and terms with vendors and individual sellers to secure favorable deals aligned with company pricing strategies Utilize systems such as CDK, OpenLane, ELeads, VAuto, Rapid Recon Manage vendor relationships through effective communication, ensuring timely deliveries and resolving any issues that arise during the procurement process Conduct detailed analysis of vehicle data using spreadsheets and Excel to assess pricing trends, inventory turnover, and sourcing opportunities Coordinate with management teams to maintain optimal stock levels using Oversee purchasing management systems supported by accounting software for accurate record-keeping and reporting of procurement activities Skills Strong proficiency in systems including CDK, OpenLane, ELeads, VAuto, Rapid Recon Excellent vendor communication skills with a focus on vendor negotiation and relationship management Advanced knowledge of inventory management techniques, pricing strategies, and sourcing methods for used vehicles Skilled in Excel data analysis for evaluating market trends, vehicle pricing, and procurement efficiencies Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently within a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Experience with accounting software supporting procurement activities is preferred Join us as a Used Car Buyer and become a key player in shaping our vehicle inventory!
