Renewable SolarIntro: Renewable Solar Inc. is a rapidly growing Solar Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firm managing a portfolio of over 200 ongoing PV solar projects valued at more than $300M, with a staff of approximately 130 personnel. Job Description: This is a prevailing wage contracted position in Lucerne Valley, CA. The Underground Foreman is responsible for operating heavy equipment, performing precise conduit layout and installation, and supervising field crews on construction and utility projects. The role ensures all work meets project specifications, safety standards, and production goals while coordinating with construction managers and general contractors. Duties and Responsibilities: Equipment Operation Operate excavators, skid steers, backhoes, loaders, rollers and graders safely and efficiently. Excavate trenches for conduit, electrical, utilities, foundations, and footings to proper depth, slope, and alignment. Perform grading, backfilling, compaction, and site preparation. Read and follow grade stakes, cut sheets, and site plans. Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance. Conduit Layout & Installation Lay out underground and above-ground conduit routes according to plans, elevations, and field conditions. Install PVC, HDPE, EMT, and RMC conduit systems including bends, sweeps, stub-ups, boxes, and supports. Measure, cut, glue, strap, and secure conduit to meet NEC and project specifications. Coordinate trenching, backfill, mandrel testing, and utility separation requirements. Work with Electrical Department to ensure compliance with codes. Supervision & Leadership Lead and coordinate field crews, assigning daily tasks and monitoring productivity. Ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and on schedule. Conduct toolbox/tailgate safety meetings and enforce OSHA and company safety standards. Oversee quality control, verify installation accuracy, and resolve field issues. Communicate with construction management. Maintain daily reports, track materials, and update project progress. Work Conditions This position requires performing physically demanding work in outdoor environments and under varying weather conditions. Employees must be able to safely perform assigned duties while complying with all company safety policies and procedures. Work conditions may include: Exposure to temperatures exceeding 100°F and below 32°F. Working in adverse weather conditions, including rain, snow, wind, dust, and direct sunlight. Exposure to uneven terrain, mud, dirt, noise, and other construction site conditions. Working at heights, in confined spaces, or around heavy equipment when required. Extended periods of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working on uneven surfaces. Required use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, high-visibility clothing, gloves, steel-toe boots, fall protection, hearing protection, and any other equipment required for the task. Ability to work overtime, weekends, or extended shifts as needed to meet project schedules and deadlines. Physical Requirements To successfully perform the essential functions of this position, employees must be able to: Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly, and greater weights with assistance or mechanical lifting devices. Frequently bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, climb ladders, and reach overhead. Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Perform repetitive motions involving the hands, arms, and shoulders. Maintain balance and coordination while working on uneven or elevated surfaces. Demonstrate sufficient visual acuity, hearing, and manual dexterity to safely operate tools, equipment, and machinery. Safely perform all essential job functions while wearing required PPE.
