Job Overview Join our dynamic maritime team as a Deckhand and become an essential part of water transportation operations! In this energetic role, you will assist with vessel handling, safety procedures, and maintenance tasks to ensure smooth and secure journeys. Responsibilities Handle lines and make up tow during assists, docking, and barge moves Support crew members with rigging and line handling at sea Participate in safety drills fire, man overboard, and security Maintain clear communication with crew members Stand watches underway and at the dock Perform routine maintenance: chipping, painting, cleaning, and greasing deck equipment Inspect and maintain lines, winches, fenders, and rigging Assist the engineer with fueling, provisioning, and basic engine room tasks Help keep the galley and living quarters clean and shipshape Follow all company safety procedures and USCG regulations Preferred Prior deckhand or towing vessel experience Basic Safety Training (BST/STCW) Knowledge of knots, splicing, and line handling What you need Valid TWIC card (required) USCG Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) with Ordinary Seaman or Able Seaman endorsement (preferred but not required) Ability to pass a DOT/USCG pre-employment drug test and physical Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work outdoors in all weather conditions Willingness to live aboard during your hitch A strong work ethic, good attitude, and ability to work as part of a small crew Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make waves!
