TSI Certified Driver Trainer – Class C Paratransit

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled TSI Certified Driver Trainer specializing in Class C Paratransit vehicles to join our team. Duties Deliver comprehensive classroom instruction on traffic laws, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) standards, and safe driving practices for paratransit operations Conduct hands-on training sessions for new drivers on bus driving techniques, manual transmission operation, air brake systems, and tractor-trailer handling where applicable Assess driver skills through practical evaluations and provide constructive feedback to ensure compliance with safety protocols and operational standards Develop and update training curricula aligned with current industry regulations and best practices in commercial truck driving and passenger safety Ensure all training activities adhere to DOT and FMCSA regulations, including proper documentation and record-keeping for certification purposes Mentor drivers on the safe operation of Class C vehicles, emphasizing passenger safety, vehicle maintenance basics, and emergency procedures Maintain a thorough understanding of trucking industry standards related to tanker operations, adult education methodologies, and classroom teaching techniques to enhance training effectiveness Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on bus driving or tractor-trailer operations Certification as a TSI (Transportation Safety Institute) Driver Trainer with expertise in Class C Paratransit vehicles Strong knowledge of traffic laws, DOT regulations, FMCSA guidelines, and air brake systems Skilled in commercial driving instruction with the ability to teach both classroom and hands-on skills effectively Familiarity with manual transmission operation and truck driving safety protocols Experience delivering adult education or classroom teaching sessions tailored to professional drivers Ability to evaluate driver performance accurately while providing motivational coaching for continuous improvement Join us in shaping safer roads by training the next generation of professional drivers!
