Trucking Operations Assistant

Job Summary Eli Wesley Trucking Inc is seeking an organized and dependable Trucking Operations Assistant to support daily trucking and logistics activities. The successful candidate will assist with dispatch coordination, shipment tracking, driver communication, recordkeeping, and general transportation administration. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics environment. Key Responsibilities Assist with coordinating daily trucking schedules and transportation operations. Support dispatch staff with driver assignments, route information, and delivery updates. Communicate with drivers, customers, and warehouse personnel regarding shipment details. Help track freight movements and monitor delivery schedules. Prepare and organize bills of lading, delivery receipts, and other transportation documents. Enter shipment information and update records in company systems. Assist with scheduling vehicle inspections and reporting maintenance concerns. Help identify scheduling conflicts, delivery delays, and operational issues. Maintain organized files, dispatch records, and driver documentation. Provide administrative support to operations managers and dispatch personnel. Follow company policies and applicable transportation and workplace safety procedures. Requirements and Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in trucking, logistics, dispatch, or administrative support is an advantage. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Good organizational and time-management abilities. Basic computer skills and familiarity with office software. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Professional attitude and willingness to learn transportation procedures. Work Environment This position primarily involves working in an office or trucking operations environment while communicating with drivers, dispatchers, customers, and warehouse staff. The role may require occasional visits to vehicle or loading areas. Flexibility may be needed to support changing delivery schedules and daily operational requirements.
