Job Overview As a Trucking professional, you’ll move freight safely and reliably using commercial trucks and tractor-trailers. You’ll follow assigned over-the-road (OTR) and local route-driving plans, use GPS navigation, and handle cargo according to its type and transport requirements. Your impact: Safe, timely deliveries help customers receive the freight and vehicles they need. Responsibilities Operate commercial trucks, including vehicles with manual transmissions, on delivery routes and OTR driving routes. Transport freight and automobiles using appropriate equipment, such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, or tankers, as assigned. Load and unload cargo; secure freight and perform manual handling in line with safe practices. Follow GPS directions, delivery instructions, and applicable Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Handle hazardous materials or dangerous goods only when qualified, following applicable hazardous materials regulations and procedures. Requirements Demonstrated commercial truck driving, commercial driving, or delivery driver experience; experience with delivery driving and route driving is relevant. Ability to drive a tractor-trailer and operate a manual transmission safely. Ability to load and unload freight and perform the manual handling required for logistics cargo handling. Knowledge of safe driving practices and applicable FMCSA and DOT regulations. Experience with refrigerated trailers, automobile transportation, flatbed or tanker equipment, and hazmat transport is preferred; required qualifications depend on assigned routes and cargo.
