Truck Wash Attendant
Zeller TransportationSchedule: Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday Job Summary The Truck Wash attendant is responsible for washing and polishing the company's tractor and trailers and other equipment. This role also includes general cleaning of the facility bays and assisting with light maintenance projects. Individuals are expected to maintain superior customer relations and a positive attitude. Key Responsibilities · Equipment Cleaning and Maintenance · Wash company tractors with soap using hands, gloves, and pressure washers. · Wash company trailers with soap using the large trailer brush. · Polish all chrome on a tractor/trailer using hand polishers. · Sweep and clean all four bays: mechanic, trailer, wash, and warehouse bays. · Complete the established cleaning schedule for the day. Coordination and Light Maintenance · Take directions from the wash bay supervisor to complete light maintenance projects. · Light maintenance projects include painting, sweeping, shoveling snow, and cutting/raking the lawn. · Work in an efficient and economical manner. · Be involved and committed to the quality process. Compliance and Professionalism · Maintain knowledge, understanding, and application of the safety practices related to this position. · Understand and apply the proper handling of equipment like pressure washers and polishers. · Be willing to train and give aid to fellow employees. · Receive constructive criticism and praise in a business-like fashion. Qualifications and Requirements · Possess the ability to read and write proficiently. · Mental capacity to complete all required paperwork and records accurately. · Willingness to participate in training classes given or requested by the company. Skills and Computer Literacy · Ability to effectively use hand tools to accomplish daily work. · Must be able to use the computer to track work time. · Competence in filling out a paper time sheet for payroll purposes · Work time tracking will include specific choices for detailed work assignments. Physical Requirements · Capacity to move, operate, lift, and store specialized equipment, including hand and power tools. · Ability to complete repairs that may require bending, twisting, climbing, squatting, crouching, and balancing. · Proficiency in accurately reading gauges and dials used in the wash bay area. · Capacity to safely exit and enter the vehicle's cab. o Cab floor level is generally 36 to 66 inches from ground level, with assistance from steps and handholds · Anticipated requirement to spend most of the day standing and walking on various surfaces such as concrete, wood, and metal. · Employees may spend 50 percent of time exposed to environmental factors such as heat, cold, dust, irritants, etc..
