Janesville Travel Center<Job Overview> As a Truck Service Advisor, where you’ll be the vital link between our valued customers and our skilled technicians. Your expertise will guide customers through their truck maintenance and repair needs while ensuring the highest level of service. You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and customer service skills to create a positive experience for every client. What you’ll do Greet customers promptly and professionally, understanding their vehicle needs and concerns Write detailed service estimates for truck repairs, including diagnostics and recommended repairs Communicate effectively with technicians to relay customer concerns and ensure timely service completion Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, transmissions, suspension work, and more Manage vehicle repair orders from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and customer satisfaction Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain detailed records of services performed Build lasting relationships with customers by providing exceptional service and follow-up support Basic Qualifications Strong background in customer service with a passion for helping others. Excellent communication skills to convey technical information clearly to customers. Experience handling cash transactions accurately Willing to work various shifts including evenings and weekends Preferred Qualifications We value candidates with a strong background in automotive repair or dealership experience. Ideal applicants will possess: Proven experience in auto service management or as a service technician Knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, suspension systems, tire services, shocks & struts, auto body repair, air brake systems, alignments, diesel engines Familiarity with auto estimating software and service writing procedures Customer service skills with an emphasis on upselling and sales techniques Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and repairs across various makes and models If you’re passionate about automotive care and eager to grow your career in a fast-paced environment that rewards initiative—this is the opportunity for you!
