Overview Join our dynamic team as a Truck Owner Operator and take charge of your driving career! This exciting role offers the opportunity to operate a variety of commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and specialized equipment like dump trucks and roll-off trucks. As an independent owner-operator, you'll be responsible for managing your routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. This position is perfect for motivated drivers eager to leverage their expertise in over-the-road (OTR) routes, logistics cargo handling, and hazardous materials transportation while enjoying the independence of owning your own truck. Duties Safely operate a range of commercial vehicles including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and specialized trucks to transport freight across regional or long-distance routes. Plan and execute efficient routes using GPS navigation systems to ensure timely deliveries while adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) standards. Load and unload cargo manually or with equipment such as forklifts or cranes, ensuring proper handling of freight including hazardous materials and dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety issues; perform routine truck maintenance when necessary. Ensure all shipments are secured properly for transport, including refrigerated goods requiring temperature control and special handling for sensitive cargo. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and compliance documentation in accordance with DOT regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams and clients to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any logistical issues promptly. Qualifications Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on route driving, delivery driving, or automobile transportation. Demonstrated knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for dangerous goods handling. Skilled in manual transmission operation; experience with manual handling equipment like forklifts is advantageous. Ability to navigate using GPS systems confidently while managing route planning for over-the-road (OTR) driving routes. Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling including truck loading/unloading procedures for freight such as freight containers, flatbed loads, or tanker shipments. Excellent driving record with a focus on safety; familiarity with various truck types including dump trucks and roll-off trucks is preferred.
