Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on trucks, including engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, hydraulics, electrical systems, and HVAC components. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, and equipment inspections to prevent breakdowns. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues efficiently. Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, forklifts, cranes, and other industrial machinery for repair or testing purposes. Fabricate parts or modify existing components using welding and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair needs. Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports for all repairs performed on vehicles and equipment. Ensure all work complies with safety standards including air brake systems, hydraulics, shocks & struts, and vehicle systems. Requirements Proven experience as a heavy truck mechanic or in a similar automotive repair role with dealership experience preferred. Must possess own hand tools necessary for vehicle diagnostics and repairs. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, hydraulics, electrical systems, and HVAC systems. Ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately for troubleshooting complex issues. Experience working with heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery or industrial equipment is highly desirable. Knowledge of automotive electrical system repair, wheel alignments, tire service, welding skills, and heavy lifting techniques.
