The Salvation ArmyABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY Schedule/Hours: Monday–Saturday Pay Class: Part time, 29 hours (non-exempt) Pay: $14.00-$14.28 This position is responsible for: Under the direction of the Thrift Store Manager, the Truck Driver & Warehouse Worker drives Salvation Army trucks along scheduled routes to pick up donations and deliver merchandise to customers; operates vehicles in compliance with Salvation Army standards and state driving regulations; loads, unloads, and transports donated goods including furniture, appliances, and clothing; ensures the safety, security, and accountability of vehicles and donations; maintains the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse; operates a baler machine; assists with community drives and special projects; and performs other duties as assigned. Key Responsibilities: Operate Salvation Army vehicles safely and efficiently Load, unload, secure, and transport donated items and merchandise Maintain warehouse operations and organization Operate warehouse equipment, Ensure vehicle, warehouse, and work area safety and cleanliness Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials, supplies, and equipment weighing over 50 pounds. Regularly stand and walk for extended periods. Frequently bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive physical movements. Climb stairs and ladders as needed. Load and unload donated merchandise, furniture, appliances, and other materials. Operate heavy-duty trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, balers, and other warehouse equipment. Perform strenuous physical labor in warehouse, retail, and outdoor environments. Work in varying weather conditions and environments with dust, noise, vehicle traffic, and other warehouse-related conditions. Work is performed in warehouse, stockroom, retail, and outdoor environments. The position is regularly exposed to varying weather conditions, dust, lint, noise, crowds, vehicle traffic, and other conditions commonly associated with warehouse and transportation operations. Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED required. One year of experience driving a heavy-duty truck or large van and two years of experience receiving, sorting, storing, loading, and unloading materials in a warehouse or retail environment; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
