Truck Driver – Local & Regional Deliveries Petersburg Manufacturing | Petersburg, Texas About Us Wylie & Son, Inc. is an Employee-Owned Company (ESOP) committed to quality products, dependable service, and a strong team culture. We are seeking a dependable, safety-conscious Truck Driver to support our Petersburg Manufacturing operations by transporting manufactured products, materials, and equipment to customers, vendors, and company locations. This position focuses primarily on local and regional deliveries, with an emphasis on day trips that allow the driver to return home at the end of the workday. The driver will also assist with shipping, receiving, and other plant support activities as needed. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Safely transport and deliver manufactured products, equipment, materials, and other shipments. Complete primarily local and regional deliveries within a normal workday, minimizing overnight travel and unnecessary overtime whenever operationally feasible. Plan efficient delivery routes and coordinate schedules with plant and shipping personnel. Properly load, secure, transport, and unload cargo in accordance with safety requirements. Verify delivery tickets, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation for accuracy. Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns. Comply with applicable DOT regulations, hours-of-service requirements, and company vehicle policies. Maintain accurate mileage, fuel, and delivery records. Assist with loading, unloading, staging, shipping, receiving, and other plant duties when not making deliveries. Communicate professionally with supervisors, coworkers, customers, and vendors. Perform other related duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), with the appropriate class and endorsements for assigned vehicles and loads. Acceptable driving record and ability to meet company driver qualification requirements. Previous commercial driving or manufacturing distribution experience preferred. Knowledge of safe driving practices, load securement, and applicable DOT regulations. Ability to assist with loading, unloading, and material handling. Dependable, punctual, organized, and safety-conscious. Strong communication skills and a professional attitude. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Travel Expectations This position primarily involves local and regional deliveries originating from Petersburg, Texas. The goal is to complete assigned trips within a normal workday and return to the facility each day whenever operationally feasible. Extended-distance and overnight trips will be limited but may be required when necessary to meet business needs. Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications.
