Big Level Trucking in Wiggins, MS is looking for OTR company drivers. Open and running for almost 100 years, (Fun Fact: one of our employees worked here for 65 years! Wow Right!) what we now call Big Level Trucking, a 4-generation family-owned company, located in Wiggins, MS. was started off as a logging company under the name “Evans Logging” “Charles Evans & Sons”. The original business was founded by Guy Harper Evans around 1930. Then later passed down to Charles “Dinky” Evans, and then passed down yet again, to Steven Evans, as our current President and Chuck Evans as our current Vice President. Harper Evans (son of Steven Evans) currently runs our Tupelo office. In 1979 Big Level Trucking made the decision to apply for ICC authority to operate as a small trucking company to keep their drivers busy due to the logging industry fluctuation and weather conditions. This expanded the driving possibilities at Big Level Trucking. (Currently there is a dry van fleet, sand/shag fleet, as well as a flatbed fleet!) In 2012 “Evans Trucking” became “Big level Trucking” and the Evans family focused all their energy on growing the commercial trucking business. With a fleet of almost 200 drivers, I would say they focused their energy well. Their effort continues today with a 17-acre yard located in southern MS, two terminals, one in Wiggins, and the other in Tupelo. Plan and follow optimal delivery routes using GPS/navigation; manage schedules to meet delivery windows. Load, secure, and unload cargo with proper manual handling and load preferences (including hazmat considerations if applicable). Monitor vehicle condition, perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and report maintenance needs. Maintain accurate delivery logs, freight records, and route information; communicate changes or delays to dispatch. Ensure timely, accurate deliveries of freight, including refrigerated loads when required, while prioritizing safety and customer service.
