Role Description The Truck Driver/Lumberyard role is a full-time, on-site position based in Red Deer, AB. This role involves safely operating company trucks to deliver lumber and building materials to customer locations, following all applicable traffic and DOT regulations. Day-to-day tasks include loading and securing materials, transporting orders, and unloading products at job sites or customer facilities using appropriate equipment and safe handling practices. In the lumberyard, the role supports order picking, staging, organizing inventory, and assisting customers and colleagues with material handling. The Truck Driver/Lumberyard team member is also responsible for conducting basic vehicle inspections, reporting maintenance needs, and maintaining accurate delivery documentation. Qualifications At least 2 years working in a lumberyard or building supply yard Solid product knowledge: dimensional lumber, sheet goods, engineered wood, and how material is bundled, tallied and stored Proven experience operating a Moffett or other truck-mounted forklift, including unloading on uneven, muddy or tight sites Valid Alberta Class 3 licence with air brake (Q) endorsement Clean driver’s abstract, current within 30 days Experience loading, strapping and securing flatdeck loads to NSC load securement standards Able to do pre-trip and post-trip inspections and keep accurate logs Able to read delivery tickets and packing slips, and check loads against paperwork Physically able to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly and work outdoors year-round in all weather Reliable, on time, and able to work with little supervision
