Truck Driver / Furniture Mover

JOB DESCRIPTION Truck Driver / ReStore Associate Habitat for Humanity / ReStore of Greater Bangor Reports to: ReStore Manager Description: This position is responsible for driving the ReStore's 16 foot box truck to pick-up donations of furniture, appliances and building supplies, safely packing the merchandise in the ReStore truck, unloading merchandise, and bringing it on to the sales floor. Employee Status: Part-time or Full-time for the right candidate. Approximately 30-40 hours per week. Typically 8:30 am - 4:30 pm Tuesday – Saturday Responsibilities: Load and unload donated items (furniture/appliances, etc.) Screen for product usability. Communicate with ReStore Manager regarding incoming donations. Supervise volunteers, making their experience meaningful. Drive HFHGB vehicles to pick-up and deliver donated/purchased goods. Maintain an effective working relationship with ReStore staff, volunteers, Habitat homeowners and ReStore customers. Help clean and straighten all areas of the ReStore. Screen for product usability when donors call or bring in donations. Direct pricing and other questions to ReStore Manager. Other duties as assigned by the ReStore Manager. Required Skills / Experience Knowledge and experience in furniture/heavy appliance moving. Experience driving a 16' box truck or other driving experience. Retail experience helpful. Customer service orientation expected. Ability to lift 40 pounds. Ability to spend majority of the day standing or moving about ReStore. Work may require climbing, considerable standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching in awkward and tiring positions. Minimum of six months’ work experience. Must have a clean driving record and maintain a good driving record Must pass Criminal Background Check and Sexual Offender Check.
