Truck Driver Class A - OTR Home Weekends
AK TRANSPORTATION INCWe are looking for an experienced OTR truck driver to serve our customers in a safe and timely manner. Monday-Friday, home weekends, evening/weekend work optional if available. Responsibilities Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance Meet delivery schedules Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions Collect and verify delivery instructions Report defects, accidents or violations Skills Proven work experience as a truck driver for 2 years Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations No recent moving or driving violations Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc) Valid truck driving license Mechanical knowledge of reefer units is a plus Job Type: Full-time Pay: $0.58 - $0.68 per mile Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Safety equipment provided Experience: Driving: 2 years (Required) License/Certification: CDL A (Required) Work Location: In person
