Overnight Truck Driver Class-A CDL - Day Cab Truck Driver Class-A CDL - Day Cab Full-Time Tuscumbia, AL McVantage Packaging specializes in manufacturing, repairing, and recycling wooden pallets and crates servicing the Central-Southeastern U.S. from our plants in Tuscumbia, AL and Nashville, TN. Our Tuscumbia operation includes a scragg mill and various production stations for manufacturing and reprocessing our lumber products and packaging product components. Both the Nashville and Tuscumbia operations are then able to assemble those products into our pallets, crates, and other products. McVantage Packaging is seeking a Truck Driver Class-A CDL - Day Cab to join our team in Tuscumbia, Alabama. Description of responsibilities: Follow all instructions and promptly communicate any safety concerns. Inspect truck equipment and supplies—including tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water—to ensure the vehicle is roadworthy. Possess knowledge and skills required to maintain single and multi-rear axle trucks in compliance with Tennessee Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) standards, including familiarity with applicable laws and regulations. Conduct accurate pre-trip inspections, properly complete the driver’s logbook, and be able to explain inspection procedures and their purpose. Safely maneuver and operate the vehicle in all situations, including on-site and over-the-road driving; demonstrate proper signaling, hazard awareness, speed control, lane positioning, and adaptation to road and weather conditions. Ensure the safe loading and unloading of all equipment and materials across various terrains, and secure all loads appropriately. Perform fueling and basic servicing of the vehicle as required. Understand and properly operate the air brake system if the vehicle is equipped with one. When not driving, carry out tasks assigned by the yard manager in and around the shop or yard Requirements Must have a current and valid Commercial Class A Driver's License. Previous CDL experience. Must be DOT certified Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions Able to through straps for a flatbed. Must be able to haul dry van and flatbed. Must be able to strap down loads on a flatbed. Able to work 12-hour shifts and occasionally up to 14 hours Monday - Friday. Preferred 2 years of related experience is Highly Preferred.
