CDL Class A Truck Driver — Home Daily Meherrin River Forest Products is hiring a full-time CDL Class A Driver to haul lumber, wood chips, and sawdust using flatbed and chip van trailers. Trucks have manual transmissions. Pay: $1,000–$1,500 per week average, paid weekly, plus weekly bonus opportunities. Home daily! Responsibilities Safely pick up and deliver wood products on schedule while following Company, DOT, state, and federal transportation regulations. Secure loads and ensure proper weight distribution. Verify cargo against bills of lading, inspect for damage, and report discrepancies. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, complete required inspection reports, and check fluid levels and tire pressure. Maintain driver logs, fuel and mileage records, and shipping paperwork. Submit signed delivery documents to dispatch daily. Immediately report accidents, equipment issues, and emergencies. Promptly report delivery delays, including loading or unloading delays exceeding one hour. Communicate professionally with customers, dispatch, and coworkers. Requirements Valid CDL Class A license. At least 3 years of truck-driving experience. Ability to operate a manual transmission and maneuver safely in traffic, adverse weather, and tight loading areas. Reliable attendance, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety. Physical Requirements & Work Environment Ability to remain seated and alert for extended driving periods. Frequently enter and exit the cab; stand, walk, climb, bend, crouch, and reach while handling freight. Lift and carry up to 50 pounds . Work around moving equipment, vibration, loud noise, outdoor weather, and uneven or wet surfaces, with occasional exposure to chemicals. Wear required PPE, including leather gloves, safety glasses, safety shoes, and a high-visibility vest.
