Truck Driver - Class 1

Job Summary We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver - Class 1 to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial trucks to transport freight across various routes. This role requires adherence to safety regulations, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle heavy equipment and freight efficiently. Duties Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks for local and long-distance freight transportation Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed Ensure all cargo is secured properly before transit to prevent damage or accidents Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, noting any maintenance issues Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to maintain vehicle safety and functionality Maintain accurate delivery logs, driver logs, and freight documentation Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during operations Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients regarding delivery schedules and issues Skills Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license (CDL) with clean driving record Experience with freight transportation and commercial driving regulations Ability to operate forklifts and heavy equipment safely and efficiently (nice-to-have) Knowledge of automotive repair basics for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues Strong understanding of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation and freight handling Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight delivery deadlines Physical ability to lift heavy loads and perform manual tasks associated with loading/unloading freight Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients This position is integral to our logistics operations, requiring a dedicated professional committed to safety, efficiency, and customer service excellence.
