Truck Driver CDL A (Side dump, Heavy Equipment Transport)

Anchored Excavation Location: Salt Lake City, UT (Serving Salt Lake & Utah Counties) Job Type: Full-Time Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Side Dump CDL Truck Driver / Heavy Equipment Transporter to join our team. We are a mid-size excavation contractor located in Salt Lake City, Utah, with the majority of our work taking place locally across Salt Lake and Utah Counties. We are looking for a reliable professional with 2+ years of experience, excellent attention to detail, strong organization skills, a "can-do" attitude, and the ability to step up and work as a leader on our team. Key Duties & Responsibilities Side Dump Operations: Safely operate CDL Class A side dump trucks to haul materials such as gravel, dirt, and debris on active construction sites. Equipment Transport: Safely load, unload, and transport heavy construction machinery to and from jobs. Inspections & Compliance: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to ensure mechanical soundness and full compliance with safety standards. Site Coordination: Coordinate efficiently with site managers and equipment operators (excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, water trucks, and trench safety equipment). Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, routes, and vehicle maintenance records. Safety & Protocols: Follow all safety protocols, including proper signaling, load securing, and adherence to traffic laws on-site and on public roads. Communication & Maintenance: Communicate effectively regarding delivery schedules, site conditions, and potential issues, and assist with basic mechanical troubleshooting or minor repairs to minimize downtime. Requirements & Qualifications Licensing: Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record (Required). Experience: 2+ years of professional experience operating dump trucks or transport equipment in construction or heavy civil projects (Required). Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with heavy equipment—such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and water trucks—is advantageous. Safety & Mechanics: Working knowledge of construction site safety procedures, regulations, and truck maintenance. Mindset & Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, great organization, and the ability to work independently or lead as part of a team with a proactive "can-do" attitude.
