Responsibilities Safely operate commercial trucks with manual transmission over local routes, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, or tankers. Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to ensure timely deliveries while complying with all DOT and FMCSA regulations. Load and unload freight with proper manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo safety and security during transit. Deliver freight accurately to various destinations, managing hazardous materials and dangerous goods when applicable. Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, delivery records, and vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT standards. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the tractor-trailer’s optimal condition and safety standards are met. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route adjustments, delivery statuses, or any issues encountered during shifts. Experience Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving preferred. Proven experience in route driving, delivery driving, or logistics cargo handling within a regulated environment. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, hazardous materials regulations, and hazardous goods transportation is a plus. Knowledge of GPS navigation systems and truck-specific equipment operation. Demonstrated ability to load/unload freight safely using manual handling techniques. Understanding of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) compliance requirements for commercial drivers.
