Truck Driver

Position Specifics Department: Service Reports to: Service Manager or Service Location Manager Supervises: None Purpose Operates vehicles to transport equipment for dealership. May instruct customers on basic equipment operating procedures. Responsibilities ● Transports equipment to/from customers and/or between dealer facilities; may also pick-up new equipment from a John Deere factory ● Supports the sales department with equipment delivery as needed ● Maintains activity records and obtains necessary signatures and receipts ● Maintains all required certifications in line with DOT, OSHA and company policy ● Accountable for all time and distance traveled in performing assigned duties ● May instruct customers on basic equipment operating procedures as required ● Update Dealer Inventory Tracking (DIT) whenever equipment is moved and/or as needed ● May participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge ● Operates and maintains vehicles, tools and equipment required to perform job responsibilities ● Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion ● Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments ● Maintains knowledge of John Deere and competitive products ● Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge ● 1+ year of experience pulling a gooseneck, tilt, or utility trailer; experience as a semi-truck operator preferred ● Experience with the mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in off road, construction, lawn, or heavy equipment ● Experience working cooperatively in a team environment ● Experience communicating effectively verbally and in writing ● High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required ● Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required Job Type: Full-time Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 – 50.0 per week Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Employee discount Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Paid time off Retirement plan Vision insurance Experience: Driving: 1 year (Preferred) License/Certification: CDL A (Required) Work Location: In person
