Truck Driver

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Class 5 Drivers License EDUCATION: High school diploma, may require some vocational training. RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE: Experience with produce and transportation principles and methods are an asset TASKS: ● Perform general physical activities in order to load, unload, sort and move shipments by hand or using material handling equipment ● Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of shipments ● Pack, seal and label materials to prepare for shipping ● Perform tasks in multi-temperature environments ● Adhere to shipping and receiving policies/procedures, and regulatory compliance procedures ● Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials ● Complete daily shipping and receiving logs ● Liaison with carrier representatives to make arrangements and issue instructions for shipping and receiving of materials ● Confer and correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages and non conformance to specifications ● Maintain shipping and receiving area TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT: ● Packaging Tools ● Measurement Tools ● Material Handling Equipment REQUIRED COMPETENCIES: KNOWLEDGE: Shipper/Receiver should have knowledge of health and safety procedures, standards and regulations, transportation principles and methods, basic mathematics and English competency SKILLS: Reading comprehension, time management, strong communication skills Summary As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for commercial driving, with a focus on transporting goods efficiently and safely. Your premium skills in forklift operation and freight handling will be essential in loading and unloading cargo.
