Onyx Logistics 123Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Truck Driver and take charge of delivering freight efficiently and safely across various routes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate a range of commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers, ensuring timely delivery while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. As a key player in our logistics operations, you will navigate over-the-road routes, manage cargo handling, and ensure the secure transport of hazardous and non-hazardous goods. Your expertise will keep our supply chain moving smoothly while providing exceptional service to our clients. Duties Safely operate commercial trucks including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers on over-the-road (OTR) routes. Plan routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery schedules and fuel efficiency. Load and unload freight with manual handling equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring proper cargo securing in compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods following strict hazardous materials regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking for mechanical issues, load security, and compliance with DOT regulations. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and cargo manifests in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route changes, delivery updates, or safety concerns to ensure seamless logistics operations. Requirements Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle type operated; experience with manual transmission preferred. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving across diverse routes such as flatbed, tanker, or refrigerated trailer transport. Knowledge of GPS navigation systems and route planning for efficient delivery scheduling. Familiarity with load & unload procedures, truck loading/unloading techniques, and cargo handling safety practices. Ability to handle manual handling tasks safely using forklifts or other equipment when necessary. Understanding of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), and hazardous materials regulations. Experience with route driving involving refrigerated trailers or specialized equipment like dump trucks or roll-off trucks is a plus.
