Firstwave, LLCJob Overview Join our dynamic team as a Truck Driver and take charge of delivering freight safely, efficiently, and on time across diverse routes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate a variety of commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers. As a key player in our logistics network, you'll ensure the proper handling of hazardous and non-hazardous goods while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. Your expertise will drive our success as you navigate over-the-road routes, manage cargo loading and unloading, and deliver exceptional service to our customers. Duties Safely operate commercial trucks including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers across designated routes. Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured according to safety standards. Navigate using GPS systems to follow optimal routes while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) guidelines. Transport hazardous materials (Hazmat) and dangerous goods in accordance with hazardous materials regulations. Deliver freight efficiently to multiple destinations, maintaining accurate delivery logs and documentation. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT regulations. Maintain communication with dispatch teams regarding route progress, delays, or issues encountered during deliveries. Skills Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for truck driving. Skilled in operating manual transmission trucks and handling various trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and tractor-trailers. Ability to perform truck loading and unloading efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time directions. Experience in logistics cargo handling involving freight management for over-the-road (OTR) routes. Strong understanding of truck driving safety practices related to manual handling, load securing, and transportation of dangerous goods.
