Responsibilities Safely operate commercial trucks including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers across over-the-road (OTR) routes. Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo integrity and compliance with logistics cargo handling standards. Navigate using GPS systems to follow optimal routes while adhering to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Transport hazardous materials (Hazmat) and dangerous goods following all hazardous materials regulations and safety protocols. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, including checking for mechanical issues, load security, and compliance with safety standards. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and cargo documentation in accordance with FMCSA regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or unforeseen delays to ensure seamless operations. Qualifications Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements for Hazmat, tanker, or other specialized loads preferred. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, delivery driving, or freight transportation. Familiarity with refrigerated trailer operation, flatbed trucking, and automobile transportation is highly desirable. Knowledge of GPS navigation systems and route planning for efficient OTR driving routes. Ability to handle manual transmission trucks and perform manual handling tasks safely. Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for truck loading/unloading. Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; experience with load & unload procedures is a plus.
